Here’s my speedtest.net result for my Smartbro internet connection under the 2Mbps plan:

I’ve also tested with testmy.net, and the result:

I’ve been using Smart Broadband Wireless (a.k.a. canopy) since it was still under Meridian Telecoms circa 2004. Though Smartbro isn’t perfect (no ISP is), I’m very very satisfied with the speed, consistency, and pricing.

Not bad, not bad at all…

I’ve recently moved working locations and here’s my current workstation. Pretty simple, but I’ll do more streamlining once I get a working wireless workplace going.

Here’s what’s in the photo:

  • Dell Latitude D620 Office laptop with mouse and pad
  • Dell 23” HD resolution monitor
  • MSI Wind U100 Plus
  • Seagate 1Tb Desktop external drive
  • Samsung SGH-B200 basic mobile phone
  • Motorola Milestone Android phone
  • Nokia E71 Smartphone
  • Oakley Radar Path eyeglasses

Technology has really changed the way we live. From the moment we wake up to the sound of our alarm clocks or our cellphones to the time we doze off in the evening after checking our emails, social networking sites accounts (facebook, myspace, friendster, multiply, etc.) and whatever we fancy on the internet, our lives are integrated with technology. We work, play, and rest with technology.

For most of us, we want technology to be always with us, within reach, and always online.  They’ve become an integral part of our daily routines that we need them like clothes.

My current focus on gear acquisition is integration and minimalism, so most of my upcoming gear posts or articles will be on practicality, integration and minimalism.

I’m not going to go into the details of all these gadgets (you can use the internet for that), but I’ll mainly focus on my personal experiences with the gadgets that I actually use.

I hope to share some of the insights I gained through this quest. So check the blog regularly and read along as I document my quest to set up my perfect mobile technology gear set. :)
